2025 Society for Neuroscience (SfN) conference in San Diego, CA
Graduate student Natasha Grabau and Dr. Kroeger visit the SfN meeting in San Diego, CA. Natasha presented a poster "Chemogenetic activation of Parafacial GABAergic neurons increases NREM sleep and affects cognitive-behavioral profiles in mice".
2025 SLEEP conference in Seattle, WA
Dr. Kroeger chairs the symposium "REM Sleep - Circuits, Functions, and Modeling" at the annual Sleep Research Society meeting in Seattle, WA. He was joined by (left to right) Dr. Fraigne (U Toronto, Canada), Dr. Ramalingam (Harvard University), Dr. Aime (U Bern, Switzerland), Dr. Weber (U Penn) and Dr. Booth (U Michigan).

2025 AU Student Research Symposium Awards
Henry Limbo, undergraduate student, won an award for 1st place for oral presentations college wide.
Natasha Grabau (PhD student) won an award for 3rd best university-wide oral presentation in the STEM category.
2025 AU Phi Zeta Research Day Awards
Henry Limbo, undergraduate student, won an award for FIRST PLACE BEST POSTER COLLEGEWIDE UNDERGRADUATE POSTER. The title of his poster was: "Age-Related Changes in Tau and Beta-Amyloid in 3xTG Mice: Implications for Alzheimer's Disease Pathology"
The Kroeger lab publishes their latest study "Sleep modulation via Nucleus Accumbens A2AR neurons to probe cognition and behavior in mice" in Neuroscience.
2024-25 Undergraduate Research Fellowship
Henry Limbo, undergraduate student, was awarded a 2024-25 Auburn University, Undergraduate Research Fellowship to continue his work in the lab!
2024 AU Graduate School Awards Ceremony
Graduate student Natasha Grabau was the University's Runner Up in the 3 Minute Thesis Competition. Congratulations!

2024 AU Student Research Symposium Awards
Our graduate and undergraduate students presented posters showcasing current research projects at the 2024 AU Student Research Symposium. Two of our students, Natasha Grabau and Julia Peterson, were recognized for their presentations. Natasha Grabau received the University-Wide 2nd Best Graduate Poster Presentation in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Category for her poster “Role of Sleep in Auto-immune Diseases". Julia Peterson received the University-Wide 2nd Best Undergraduate Poster Presentation in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Category for her poster “Examine the Effectiveness of an Orexin 2 Receptor (OX2R) Agonist on Memory, Anxiety, and Depression in Narcoleptic Orexin Knock-out (OX-KO) Mice".
